Still chokes me up 5 years later. It is an abiding raggedy pain. Look how beautiful little Jackie is (blue quilted jacket).

He was simply amazing. He was what RG3 is now...a cut above the rest.
We were severely robbed of a HOF, best at his position, type of player. He was Ronnie Lott, but bigger and faster. We may never see a 6'3 230 lb true FS that hits like a backer and could cover the elite WR's one on one with his CB speed. The intensity he brought to the team was Brandon Meriweather times 1000.
What he and London could have done over the past five years would rival what Ray and Ed bring to the Ravens. He has such a great highlight reel and he only had 3.5 years worth. His rookie year alone he was matched up with TO, Randy, and Chad man to man and won. He might have been the only player that could stop Megatron.
He brought fear in the eyes of the opponent. He would be getting fined and suspended left and right if he were still here, but our defense would be boss.
Here's to maybe finding another one day. Hail to em.

Crazy! He was so young with so much talent. He was taken from us way too soon! I still remember his Int of Brett Favre in one of his last gms ever played, I will never forget it. He is gone but never will be forgotten!

Hard to believe that it's been 5 years. RIP ST21.
Perhaps the greatest safety tandum that never was? Taylor and Landry.

He was my favorite Redskin post-Darrell Green and Lavar Arrington. I was in awe of his physical ability and talent. I was bedstricken for almost a week after he was killed. I don't know when or if I will ever take down the Sean Taylor sig I have sported since that day. Any suggestions? These must be brought to justice. What the heck is taking so dang long? I thought the trial was scheduled for November? I wonder if the scumbag regrets it now. It'd be interesting to hear an interview from him.

You should definitely keep the sig CD.
Not sure why it's taking so long either. Our justice system is just...well flawed I suppose is the best way to put it.
I still think the proper punishment would be to make them serve as our scout team for an entire season. Let the likes of London Fletcher destroy them all day every day.

A senseless tragedy---Taylor was really getting his life together--and he was on the verge if not already the best Safety in the game---he was on his way to the Hall of Fame--they really need a special wing in the HOF for players like Sean who were cheated out of the opportunity due to premature death ---for me Sean Taylor on defense = RGIII on offense

Or if you are tried of the "size" of your sig, maybe just put Sean Taylor - Warrior, Redskin, Father, Friend as text in your sig. But heck, I would just keep it.

I'll never forget hearing that he had passed. My alarmclock was set on AM sports radio, and I think Chris Collinsworth was on there and I heard him say "...if anybody can get a team through this, Joe Gibbs can" and I knew.
Very, very sad. I had terrible feeling when he got hurt in that Eagles game. I think someone allowed a late touchdown that made us keep our starters in. I was mad, and then, of course heart broken when he was killed.

Honestly, a bit of my love or investment in the game went for me when he passed. I can't really explain it any better than that. It's still hard sometimes watching games and seeing guys playing his spot. Like Rolle said there, it was just so nice knowing he was around, and that he was on our team, even just during the week. It was a thrill knowing he'd be there when Sunday rolled around.
RIP Sean, we still miss you.

Yeah Liam I can relate to that sentiment too.
ST was 'My Guy", like so many here and it was a bitter day when he died.
Part of me thinks that he was loved so widely because there were so few things to love about the Redskins at the time. Then I just remember his heart and knowing that nobody played the game like he did with so much abandon. He was one of a kind.
I'll never forget Tiki Barber saying that the way Taylor threw his body around out there was insane. That really tells you how many opponents simply feared playing against Sean Taylor. Ask T.O.
What a warrior.
He surely was one of our own.

One of my best memories as a 55 year fan was watching his last game in as a Skin from the stands. Gregg played him as a true centerfielder in the Ed Reed/Polomalu role and I watched him on every play. He was the best I've ever seen, even when Williams put him 30 yds deep, he was in on every play. No longer a hitter in the box, he roamed the back as the playmaker.
Taylor was on the brink of something great. HOF for sure, maybe the greatest FS ever. It took a few years for him and the coaches to bring his God-given ability in line with the NFL game, but at the sad end he was ready to dominate.
My #21 towel sits proudly on a chair along with a framed #21 in my game room. HTTR to our fallen warrior.

TEAR THE GIANTS UP with him in their hearts.
He just might like that.

Strange thing. I watched the 10 for 80 special last night because it was on my DVR and I had not seen it yet. When it got to Sean it really struck me in a way it had not before. When his face came on the screen (closeup) at the very end of the segment I suddenly realized it had been exactly 5 years since he died. Its strange that I picked that night to watch it because it was a tuesday and, well, I had not planned on it at all.
*Flashback*
I was driving back to the office in the middle of nowhere Arkansas when I heard the news about the shooting on the radio. It was a lonely feeling knowing that nobody I worked with at the time was a skins fan and I had nobody to talk to about it (at least that would understand). When I got back to the office I just went home so I could tell my wife. This is strange to me considering I never met the man, but I guess a lot of people felt that way. The run the team went on after that said a lot about how everybody (on the team) felt about him.
In the past few years I will admit I have been annoyed by being reminded about this tragedy every year at this time. I want to move on. I think every 5 years is about how often I want to think about it.
