First game of the season for a new regime is always nerve wracking because you just don't know what you're going to see on the field. Even if we start off well and have a lead going into the fourth quarter, I'll still be nervous because you don't know how the team, with the HC etc, will finish the game. I just hope we play competent football in all 3 phases of the game and are in it from start to finish. A win would be great, but just play good football and build from there.

Expect a dogfight. Neither the Skins nor the Texans are going to 'go down easy' today. I'm calling Skins 16-14 in a nail biter, with Skins' fans pleased we kept Forbath. Hope I didn't just jinx him! Lol!! First game of the season for a new regime is always nerve wracking because you just don't know what you're going to see on the field. Porter's absence isn't a surprise but it does mean Biggers and Breeland need to step up in the nickel packages be interesting to see how many snaps they get.

First big move by Gruden. So excited he dint go with named vets (Moos, Porter) over more tatlented youngsters (breeland, Robinson). That says a lot to me. I think a lot of coaches go with the vets.

Why keep Moss if he's not going to play?

This has to be Moss's first ever healthy scratch.
That alone gives me hope in Gruden. He doesn't care about names or what you did in the past, it's all about who can help this team the most now.

Why keep Moss if he's not going to play? There will almost certainly be an injury at some point. Plus vet presence to help robinson

That was my argument in TC/PS leading up to the roster cut downs. The play of Robinson and Grant made Moss expendable IMO and would have freed up a roster spot for another position.

I like the captains. Good choices and I know they let the team vote for the top 3 then Gruden chose the other 2. Like the way he's doing it. It's very early, but I like what I've seen and heard from Gruden so far. Of course, now he has to prove it on the field. Looking forward to it.

Rich Tandler @rich_TandlerCSN From what I’ve gathered at #Redskins Park: Preseason offense = my beat up old minivan. Offense we will see today = new Porsche.
Let's hope there is some truth to that. I've been hoping that the offense we were seeing was as vanilla as it comes, and not a sign of what's really coming

Robert's play will decide just how our offense runs.

Why keep Moss if he's not going to play? I think Moss was set down because A) he's #5 at best in the WR pecking order and B) if he's not the punt returner, he doesn't play on ST's. We all know how important Gruden thinks ST's is. Good move by Gruden.

I am so stinking excited right now. I always have major withdrawal issues outside of the regular and post seasons.

Mark it, Texans play Clowney outside TW, Watt inside TW to shut down our strength, running Almo left. Look for Almo to get more yds running right.

I also foresee some read-option from the "our" Redskins. He may not overall have a big game, but look for DeSean Jackson to have a big play.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Burning timeouts and poor clock management seems to defy coaching changes around here.
