Willie Smith tonight made Shar Pourdanish look all world...If Williams was playing, there would be a better opportunity to evaluate Griffin.
I am not throwing Scherff under the bus for his mistake. That was one play and the ROOKIE got taught a lesson. Now if he does not learn from it and if it happens constantly...
But I will say I find it amazing the offense comes to life last week after the QB was changed. The offense came to life this week after the QB was changed.... re they just doing vanilla with Griffin and opening the playbook with Cousins and McCoy, or is it the QB?
The OL was pitiful with Griffin, especially Smith, but he HAS to learn to get rid of the ball.
I will also mention again how everyone always hounds Cousins for interceptions. Well Griffin always fumbles.... two tonight. Take your poison.
And on pregame,I found a comment interesting. Trevor Matich said that Griffins run last week to get the first down was a "wow" play. BUT a DUMB play. He said Griffin had a receiver open by two or three yards for the first down but instead he took off and ran and took another hit. He said he wants to see Griffin make smart plays, not wow plays.

Just FYI that doof Albert, said Zach was undrafted from San Diego State, NOT! He's an undrafted Jackrabbit from SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY in Brookings SD. He was a total joy to watch for 4 years. In addition to his 3 consecutive 2000 yard seasons he also rushed for 488 yds against the annual Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri FBS games.
It's a virtual lock that RG3 misses a few games this year due to injury. Who cares whose fault it is - this is just how it's going to be. He can't keep taking shots and expect to stay healthy. That leaves KC for a few games. When he goes 1-3, it will already be a lost season. Why is anyone thinking it will be any different this year?. I'm excited for NEXT year, when we have a new coach, a new first round QB, a sophmore Matt Jones and a 2nd offseason under ScottyM.

The OL looked bad with Griffin in the game, but damn if the offense doesn't look better when the other 2 QB's are in the game. I'm not sure why, but it seems like everything picks up it's pace and it plays better the moment either McCoy or Cousins comes in. It has nothing to do with who they're playing against either. It just seems the offense is crispier and plays better. BTW you have to wonder if the defense doesn't attack Griffin more because of the problems he has had in the pocket the past 2 years. Anyone else see that or think that might be why the OL is getting beat up so badly?
Other then the QB's I was impressed with our top 4 RB's. All of them did pretty well and Mack Brown wasn't bad at the end of the game. We also have some depth at WR with Ross and Spencer and the kid Bell. Did anyone else notice that the 2nd string OL seemed to play better then the 1st string OL? And yes, it was against 2nd stringers, not first stringers. It just seems they handled things better. The kids Bates, Spaight and Jeffcoat are going to make for some hard decisions at LB this year.
Overall, glad for the win and sorry to see Hayward hurt again for the 2nd year in a row. Oh and sorry to see Griffin get hurt. If he fails, fine, but don't want him getting hurt.

Mercifully I missed this game due to work. How did Scherff look? Worth his pick;-)? So was Griffin as bad as it seems? We have to make a decision soon: is this year the year we run Griffin out there to determine whether our investment in him is a complete bust? Or do we give Cousins a legit shot, and try to make something of this season? This year is going to be fugly either way, I'm thinking.
