Strawberries and raspberries aren't berries. They're fruits.
Bananas actually aren't fruit but are considered berries.
You can add blackberries to that list.
What most people call the strawberry fruit (the red tasty part) isn't the fruit. The tiny seeds are the fruit. The red fleshy part is made up of multiple ovaries that have grown together from the strawberry flower.
The blackberry and raspberry (there are others in this class) are cluster fruits. Each small round part on one of the "berries" is an individual fruit.
1940's Hollywood actress Hedy Lamarr was co-inventor of electronic frequency hopping (U.S. Patent 2,292,387) the changing of transmitted radio frequency to prevent jamming. Her intention was to use it to prevent radio controlled torpedoes from being jammed during WW2. This technology is still in use today, one application of it prevents RADAR from being electronically jammed. She was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014.
