Somewhat notable, I guess. WaPo columnist who has been very actively advocating against the name has now changed his tune based on the poll results. I doubt we'll see many other admissions like this, but I do think this will greatly quiet the noise for a while.

I've always been ambivalent about this issue. First and foremost, I think it's the creation of an activist think-skinned, pseudo-intellectual sports media intelligentsia perpetuating their opinions as incontrovertible fact (see pigheaded Mike Wise for example). But, at the same time, I think the controversy around the team's name is unproductive and Snyder has handled the controversy poorly. It feels great to stick it to the egg-shell walking know-it-alls, but it would also be great to put this issue to rest once and for all. And this poll or any other won't do it. There will always be a shrill minority that will drown out common sense
