They have had low number draft picks for years and now it looks like they are dumping and sand bagging for next years draft. The only notable draft pick they have kept is Joe Thomas and he was on the trading block a year or two ago.
It seems their grand plan is 'change' or 'shuffle' until they get the desired results.
They have changed owners, front office and coaches at a dizzying pace. I guess the only thing left to shuffle is the players, wait they can still shuffle off to Toronto. Is there an over/under on 20 draft picks for next years draft ?

I kind of like the Browns strategy. They've got nice pieces on offense, and if they can rebuild their D in 2017 through the draft and FA, they could be competitive in the NFC North in less than 3 years. Assuming they have their answer at QB.

The Browns have Danny Shelton and Joe Hayden on D and that's about it.
They have a few playmakers on offense but their QB is who we think he is.
Their coach may well be one of those great teacher/coordinators who is a lousy head coach. (his playcalling yesterday was "head scratching" and he's hitched his wagon to a coach killer)
Not a great strategy imo.

The Browns work into the wee hours of Sunday night to organize their strategy. Then they work into the wee hours of Monday night to reorganize their plans from Sunday. On Tuesday morning, a truck load of Vodka arrives and they work into the wee hours of Tuesday night...

And now they buy a mid to low level 2nd and 7th rounder for $16m. IMO, thats a pretty steep price. The new CBA has a rolling four year (from PC) minimum Cap expenditure, so maybe they are thinking they can burn this $16m and raise the minimum when it comes due.
