Good grief is right. Those guys didn’t win championships by themselves. I seriously doubt they had 2 or 3 lineman hurt every year. Bradshaw had a legendary defense called the steel curtain and a pretty damn good run game led by Franco Harris. Farve had Reggie White leading the defense and a lot of other talent as well.
Here’s an idea. How about we get a running game and improve our defense and then see what cousins can do when he doesn’t have to carry the team every year.
noted, but again my point was Injuries played, and will play a part on any team.. the injury topic is just a excuse for teams that are perennial losers, which we are and have been since the early 90's. we are Seventy games below .500 since 1992 on our overall record. there's more going on here then just Injuries. as far as Favre, that guy won a ton of games by himself when the Packers had no business winning those games, aka his gunslinger moniker he was given, but yes your points are noted and have some validity. my mindset is excuses make you not achieve your goals, you always have something to fall back on when you don't achieve what you want, when instead you should evaluate why you failed and make the appropriate corrections.
a great example(I believe) in this thinking is Belicheck, he has some teams, maybe even this year that you wonder how the hell do they keep winning.? he keeps thinking and tinkering till he makes it work, Gibbs was the same way, that's why he stayed at Redskins Park till 3 and 4 in the morning. Gibbs and Belicheck don't believe in excuses, I don't either. I was not implying either that Farve or Bradshaw had multiple Injuries every year on their line, I was trying to just simply say, I'm sure they faced some untimely Injuries on that front(as we did this year) and I would tend to believe they did a much better job of over coming them then we did this year and in years past.
