Well that was as thorough an ass whooping as weve delivered in...forever.

Didn’t like the way the game finished. And we’re going to have to get better production out of the receivers. But over all it was exactly what we wanted. Gruden finally gets an opening day win.

That is three fumbles on the day. Smith recovered his two at least.
Ball security.
And need to work on the pass rush.

Hes a fumbler. Just take the ball out of bounds and kneel down twice

That was a drop by the cards TE. Should have been a TD and the cards kicking an onsides kick. And the last two drives by the coaching staff... obviously no attempt to do anything but three and outs. They figure the game is won and the cards can't cone back.... like the skins have never given away a game before.... they weren't up 14 over new Orleans last year and lost did; that is just a nightmare fantasy. they are not coaching to win. they are coaching to not lose. They played safe when the Cards had zero chance pf coming back. Isnt like only being up 14 with 8 mins left.

The finish was fine. We played conservatively up 3 scores against a bum QB.

Road butt whooping. Not a perfect second half but it was over a long time ago.
Preseason.....lol Starters not playing.... Camp was too soft......
Put an end to all of that.

I’d like to see the team not let up the gas. They haven’t earned the alternative.

Trey Quinn is hopping on one leg to welcome every player back to the locker room.

Hard not to like a game that showed real composure and discipline. This game showed that this team can bring its game when needed - and it can be effective.

Thorough efficiency.
The game was never really in doubt midway through the 3rd quarter. The Cardinals couldn't even move the ball. The defense controlled the game and the offense did what they needed to do. I didn't particularly like we went a bit conservative, but Gruden and company must've felt comfortable.
I wanna see all the "Nabobs" come on and sing praises. I bet they would've already been logged on and posted numerous times had the score been the opposite.

Any word on Quinn? I feared he ruptured his Achilles with the way he grabbed his heal...doesn’t sound like it though.

Joined the presser late, so I didn't hear Jay address injuries.

High Ankle Sprain is what it seems to be. Hopefully, that's all it is. He'll be missed. Dude not only has sure hands but blocks well too.

D Hall is on the local coverage and said that the respect our guys have for AP has “even WRs who never dreamed of throwing a block were busting it for him."

I can't believe the Ten/Mia game is still going on. Those players must be exhausted. An early game that hasn't ended after all the 2nd games are finished.

I hope Quinn is back soon. I’m ok with Sims spending the rest of the year on IR and taking over next year!

Good win against a poor team. As i thought their D would struggle with a new scheme and system and they did...mightily.
This wasnt the very good Cards 3-4 defenses of Bowles and Bettcher weve seen over the past 4 -5 years.
Bradford was well .....Bradford.
What a difference a running game and defense makes.
Another poor team next week at Fed Ex (although they have a decent QB).
Should be 2-0 by the end of next weekend. No excuses.
Then the fun starts....

We ran the ball better than I've seen since at least 2013, and our run D stopped one of the best RBs in the NFL. If those two things continue, we are going to win a lot of games and be in the mix for the playoffs.
The secondary played much better than I expected, but it was against Bradford who looked out of sorts all afternoon. I hope that continues against better QBs, starting next week against Indy.
The WRs didn't get involved a lot today, but the run game and the RB screens and TEs were clicking. Alex was taking what they were giving, and moved the ball up and down the field for clock eatting...and TD scoring drives. If Rich hadn't gotten held I think that would have been an easy long completion and possibly a long TD pass.

I'm not thrilled that the Dline couldn't muster a consistent pass rush against Bradford 😒 and that AZ quit running the ball as we couldn't slow that down either.
SO happy to see both Reed /CT get reps and look like their old selves..
And with the lack of playing time in August, yep..AS looked average..plus the pass protection..eh!
Memo to Bruce: white unis should be the HOME games/ all burgundy on the road..ugh!!

That may have been by design though NC. I think the gameplan was all about stopping Johnson. I don't think we were very worried about Bradford and made the decision to stop DJ and make Sam beat us with his arm and legs of glass.

I cant believe some peeps are finding things to complain about. This game was just perfect and exactly how we needed to start this season.
Our defense is incredible! Dont sell our boys short, they had a number 1 pick QB that has been traded for good draft picks twice in his career. They have a legend playing slot (against a first time starter) and aguably the best all around offensive weapon in the game playing RB.
They have four "elite" player on their team. Most will claim we have only one...but we tapped dat a$$ good today, and did it in their house on opening day.
Be excited brothers and sisters. Even if this is our peak, enjoy it...dream of that trophy. Dont hold back and expect a hangover next week.
Believe that this year the Washington Redskins are the team that nobody saw coming. Believe that we can dominate in all facets and finish top five in offense AND defense.
Believe that AP can carry this team the whole season. Believe that Alex Smith is a MVP candidate and will have this team contending year in and year out.
Believe this defense will only get better as we are soooooo young and talented. Believe that we have the right vets leading the pups the right way.
Believe that Jay will continue to pound the ball and that this offense can not be stopped. Arizona has a very good defense and we took it to them.
Believe that Chris freaking Thompson is BETTER than he was last year and that he will be a player that opponents will game plan heavily for.
Believe that Jordan will stay healthy and will not be covered successfully by anyone this year.
Believe that Doctson will learn to block this year if he learns anything at all. Believe that any contribution by him will purely be icing because we have so many other mouths to feed.
Believe that Richardson will lead the league in 50 yard bombs this year....well lead the NFC, freaking T. Hill is a freak! Paul almost got one today but he will probably get at least one chance a game.
Believe that some of you owe coach an apology...he was briliant today and his guys were ready. Keep doing what your doing Jay.
Its going to be huge to see how we respond next week at home. If we play like this after the week of ego stroking we are about to enjoy, then we really might be special this year. Surely many will expect a let down, but i encourage Redskins Nation to feed the fire and get behind our boys.
Remember how envious our players must have been to see all the glory the Caps just earned. They want that...long road but we couldnt have had a better start.
Here's to a repeat performance next week at home. Hail to em

AZ has a great OL, not all that concerned that we didn’t generate much pressure.
