Seriously. The emotional swings (and “this one thing is at fault!” approach) of this fan base at this point are inexplicable. Not to mention, some fans seem to revel in losing. It's like they're getting their jollies off by saying "I told you so." Disappear all last week, and return only after a loss. Comical. What a load of tripe. I traveled down to the game yesterday,a 3 hour drive each way from NJ,because I revel in losing? How about I’m sick of losing and tired of seeing this franchise make the wrong decision time after time. We had a good quarterback in his prime and let him walk. And yes it’s inevitable that horse is going to get beat to death if yesterday’s performance becomes the norm.

I dont think its accurate to say people revel in losing or enjoy pointing out they've been right with their team assessment. I hate that this team loses ALL THE ****ING TIME. And I really hate that there are fans who still smile and support Snyder and the FO/Coaches no matter what happens.

I’m sure we’re going to hear over and over from the apologists how it’s only two games. But things better change quick. We knew coming into this season a lot of focus would be on the comparison of Smith and Cousins. Well cousins just threw for over 400 yards and 4 TD’s in Green Bay. Now smith gets to go against that same defense at home. Another performance like yesterday isn’t going to cut it. 3 field goals against the Colts is a friggen joke. Check down Charlie better up his game. Thanks again Doug Williams, you really know your quarterbacks. Cousins did what Cousins always did. Put up good numbers and then throws the game away in the end. This time he was given a gift from the refs. Watch the roughing the passer call on his interception. Packers got ripped off. Bro, if Matthews had tackled any 'star' QB in the league like that not named Cam Newton, the ref would have made the same call. The NFL these days is very strict about defensive players wrapping up and driving players into the ground. In slo mo it looks sort of okay, but at real time speed it looks like a vicious hit. The NFL has placed on emphasis on defensive players not being allowed to tackle and drive players into the turf. Cousins led the Vikes on three scores in 7 minutes late in the 4th quarter and outplayed Rodgers. Let the man have his shine. And the Pack didn't get ripped off. They had several chances to win that game and couldn't do it.

Then Brady got robbed for not getting the call that he should have gotten. The point continues to still be the same, we let a homegrown and drafted franchise QB, one we haven't had in christ only knows how long, walk over a few million dollars and the fact that it wasn't a garbage Coach's "kind of QB". The Redskins, yet again, wallow in mediocrity because of dumb decisions made by people that think they're smart but have zero statistical evidence that says they are.

Oh no. I watched the Viking game. Kirk didn't invent the rule and Kirk didn't throw the flag. All Kirk did was put the VIkings on his back in Lambeau Field and totally outplay Aaron Rodgers in the 4th Qtr and OT. 425 Yards worth and 4 TDs and the 2 point conversion was a perfect fade route. So yeah there are plenty of reasons to drool over that! Of course Alex Smith didn't throw any interceptions so you can hang your 9 point hat on that. The only reason the Vikings lost is because of 3 missed FGs (2 of them in OT) and a blocked punt. The Packers had the Aaron Rodgers rule enforced against them. NOT KIRK'S RULE!

Alex Smith is not a problem. He did not cost us the game yesterday. What cost us the game was poor offensive line play.

The fluffers are the problem not the depressed fans. How this franchise still is able to draw 57k is remarkable not that almost 30k didn’t show up. It’s a never ending cycle of misery and incompetence. Some fans kind of enjoy it or miraculously look passed it some even develop a weird form of Stockholm syndrome with Snyder. But since I’m one of those fans who’s GUILTY of believing this franchise made a colossal mistake in letting Cousins walk and trading for an inferior quarterback, your generalizations would apply to me. But I don’t revel in it at all. In fact I pray that Smith proves me wrong. I would have no problem eating crow. Just don’t think I’ll have to.

Did Snyder play on the OL yesterday or was he part of the pass rush or did he drop balls? He invested in a team and is letting the so called professionals manage the team. Blame it on the players and coaches as they all received a paycheck for yesterday's lack of performance.

Packers got ripped off. So what. It was a bad call. Cousins still had to throw a perfect TD pass and convert a 2 point conversion. Then drove the Vikings into field goal range twice. Does the bad call negate all that? Last year they threw a BS intentional grounding call against cousins in the Saints game. But he still got blamed by many here for not winnning the game. Bad calls happen all the time. Bottom line 400 yards 4 touchdowns. Let’s see how Smith does against that same defense this week. He wouldn't have had the chance to do any of that if not for the bad call. Vikings fans would be saying the same things Redskins fans have been saying about him choking at the end of the game

So tackling a qb is a penalty in the NFL now. Lmao some fans here are ridiculous. That is one of the softest tackles i have seen on a qb and people call it lifting and driving him into the ground. I guess the fans have gone softer than the league

KC moved to a more talented, better coached team in MN (how well would Bridgewater or Keenum do in DC?) while Smith moved to a less talented, lesser coached team in DC. It's an apple to oranges comparison. Cousins threw for 13000 yards and 80 touchdowns over the past 3 years. Last year he threw for 27 touchdowns and 4000 yards after losing 2 one thousand yard receivers. First time that’s ever happened. He also didn’t have Jordan Reed for half the season. The team this year is supposed to be more talented so what’s Alex Smiths excuse for yesterdays performance. Funny how nobody said Cousins had a less talented team last year, that would have been making excuses. But now all of a sudden we’re a less talented team. Actually, it's been mentioned on here a lot. Cousins did not have a great supporting cast last year and did not play well, at least partially due to that.

Sons to Father Father’s to sons Grandfathers to grandchildren It’s been ripped apart. I personally will never have that bond with son who’s ten and laughs at the Redskins . “ They always stink dad” he’s 10 and gets it. Don’t give me the get a grip or now we gain perspective on life crap. Large amounts of people spend thousands of dollars on Snyder’s fraudulent and incompetent product. If a banker steals 50 dollars from a clients account heads roll. Snyder bought this team to acquire a license to steal from fans and that’s exactly what he’s done. Many times over I’m proud nobody showed yesterday This Franchise reaps what it sows from here on out I hope they prove me wrong. All of them Gruden Smith etc But they won’t because they never do in this uniform it’s Redskins annual mantra “Prepare for the worst and hope for mediocrity”

Those same people who are spending thousand of dollars can simply stop going to games and not purchase any merchandise. No one is forcing anyone to do any of those things. Maybe, yesterday, with the many empty seats and non-sell out in five decades, was a start with fans turning their backs on the franchise and overall product. I doubt Snyder wanna be embarrassed and take a hit to the pockets.

Like last year against the Saints. People act like everything that happened after the call doesn’t count. I think Vikings fans are pretty happy with Kirk right about now. The field goal kicker not so much.

There weren’t multiple teams willing to pay him guaranteed money because they thought he sucked. I don’t remember cousins getting much of a pass. Now we’re hearing excuses for Alex about how bad the line is and the receivers suck. Basically the same line and receivers Cousins had.

But I should have had the foresight to know the thread would be taken in that direction. That is my bad and I should have explained better what I was getting at. That being said, Smith is known as a check down QB. Not sure why he plays that way or what his reluctance is to go down the field. Some will say trust in our bad WR's but it's not like he came here and became a checkdown QB. He has had this rap for his entire career. Short passes for YAC and lots of passes to the RB and TE. That is his game, for whatever reason. But our OL yesterday was beyond bad. They were atrocious. Re-watch the game. There was one hand-off where the ball, and THREE defenders, greeted the RB at the same time. Ridiculous!

I think the thread should more about how the leadership group (coaches and players) on this team respond.
To say that fans have no right to be angry about the sh*tfest we saw on the field yesterday against a poor team is assnine. The product we've seen in the first two weeks has resembled what we've seen over the past 25 years in the main, and certainly in the last 5 years under the current regime.
The point is though they should be given every chance to respond to that performance and over the next two games against Green Bay and New Orleans either side of the bye, they have their chance.

When you throw the ball a ton, you are going to have yards....no one should judge a QB on yards passing. No one also said Cousins sucked last year and there were plenty that made excuses (or valid concerns) for him. This has been discussed ad nauseum though. Are we going to do it every week? Cousins is a good QB. Smith is a good QB. Go SKins.

Cousins would have tried to get the ball downfield yesterday in the 4th quarter in an attempt to try and win the game.

I don't think Smith was the issue yesterday. With that said, he'll never be the guy that can elevate his team and win a game when things are looking real bad, the way Cousins almost did yesterday(really had the game won if not for the crap K).
If things are like last week, when the OL and run game are going, Smith will do just fine. But we downgraded at QB, that much should be obvious now.

But maybe that can also be partially Smith's fault if you think on it. The colts knew when the ball was going to be snapped a ridiculous number of times. Was Smith being so obvious in his cadence the DL knew the snap better than the OL?
