Gruden needs to find a way to put that 'C' on Allen's chest sooner rather than later. He and Swearinger are the true leaders of this Defense (and Foster, who quietly takes care of Bidness).
Wow, the Giants really screwed the pooch this year. They gave Beckham a ton of money, they should have just let him walk and be glad for the years he played ok. Eli is horrible, yes a percentage can be attributed to the awful tackles he has protecting him, but he's going downhill fast. To be sure, he's not the worst and he can still help a team win, he's just quite simply not the same old Eli. The Giants have a lot of unrest going on.
The Redskins haven't been good against any NFC East team and have fallen short when it comes to anything closely resembling a 'game of importance.' So what is on the plate?
- A game against an opponent that 'you should beat.'
- A road game.
- A road game against a division rivalry.
- A game that could extend your 1 game lead.
- A chance to make a statement - "We are for Real."
So what else is there to expect? From 1993 to date, personally, I have gotten fired up for such a game only to leave the stadium or turn it off by the end of the 1st Qtr. It's been like nobody told them there was a game and they just roll over and embarrass themselves and get beaten like old rugs.
I know what 'should happen' but I am smitten by 'what has happened.' You know, the usual, the same old, same old.
I like what AP has brought here, it's good to see him doing well - I want to turn on the tube and watch him have another good game.
I like Alex Smith, he got shafted in SF for a bum, moved out of KC and now here.... what's not to like? He's a classic Redskins QB.
I like our 'Bama boys who just cause nightmares for offensive lines, Allen looks like a young Mean Joe Greene at times.
There's a lot of good stories on this team, there's a nice blend of vets and youth, so I do want to see them win.
I hope they buck the norm Sunday.
I spent many hours in the company of Mean Joe... Allen has to prove it yet but he does remind me of him.
