On offense we have no starting QB, no #1 or #2 WR, no #1 or #2 TE, all our offensive line are now completely injury prone and we have an untested RB coming back from injury and our starting change of pace RB in Thompson who also can't stay healthy.
In other words - we actually dont have a single starter on the offensive side of the ball. Not... one.
Let that sink in for a moment.
On defense it's clear we dont have any worthwhile starter at ILB and we still lack a true speed edge rush guy. We now dont have any starting safeties and the so-called depth at CB has not materialised.
So we are needing at least four new starters on that side of the ball as well.
And that is before we start having discussions about depth.
In short, we are a train wreck heading into 2019 with a substantial cap issue if Smith cant go. If Jay was feeling bad about the Eagles game, he may not want to take a reality check for 2019, because he may not come out of the foetal position.
The only person I'm intetested in hearing from is Doug Williams and whether he wants to sugar-coat the magnitude of the problem or whether he is going to admit the reality and do something about it.
Unfortunately I agree with everything that is said here. A good front office could have this mess fixed in 3 years. I just don't see that happening with the Redskins.
