But the erosion in local fan support - as evidenced by declining TV share and perhaps punctuated even more by that debacle at FedEx with Philthy in town to end our season - has to gnaw at Dan. Doesn't it?
I believe it's why he shook things up so - from canning LaFemina (sp?) and Company to getting involved with pushing for Haskins to give the fanbase something to get excited about. If things still go poorly in '19, I just can't believe Bruce and folks in the FO and on the Coaching Staff / Roster remain invulnerable.
We either start winning both on and off the field, or the Owner will have no recourse but to clean house - including sending Cousing Brucie off into retirement.
The thing is, if Haskins hits (and he well might), I think we're going to start winning. And that's what will matter in the end - despite the damage to the brand Bruce and Dan have rendered.
Again, I care about the football people - and, in my view, Bruce and Dan are empty suits and the furthest thing from 'tootball people.' Always have been. It's not news, as Nack likes to say.
It's not news biggest, but it's startling to see it in black and white. The things that stand out to me is how loyal the fans were during the Vinny era.It hasn't been till the Allen era that you see the attendance drop off a cliff. I think the fans are just worn down by the incompetence and directionless shown by Allen. And it's funny because no one was more thrilled when Vinny got sacked. I knew nothing about Allen at the time but figured (stupidly) that his pedigree meant he knew what he was doing. How wrong I was! His ineptness and cluelessness is matched only by his condescending arrogance.
