Ok. So Gruden was fired.
Jerry says that Garrett will be coaching in the NFL next season. Nothing about being the Cowpokes coach in '20. Sounds like he is done in Little D.
Now one of the top Giants Executives is saying he will be having a heart to heart with Mara at the end of the season. Doesn't sound good for Shurmer.
Has the NFCE ever had three teams looking for a new HC in the same offseason? It is going to be a mad dash for each team to land their top candidate so that one of the other rivals doesn't get their guy first. At least we have gotten a head start in the coaching search. But we may also be in the GM search, if Allen is fired, and that should take place before the HC search/hire.

Jerry is going to sign Gruden and Danny boy is going to sign Garrett.

... "As The World Turns" ... lol
Wait a minute, Garrett is out of contract and Gruden is owed $7m. Hmmm, that's OK, Jerrah will get his BFF fanboy to cover the $7M.
lol

Don't think that Doug Pederson is off that list either. If the Eagles screws the pooch and loses most of its remaining games heads will roll in Philly too.
As I said earlier in the season, this year has more BAD Football teams in the NFL than I can ever remember.

The coaching carasol will be interesting this year.
After listening to Carolina's owner talk about his reasoning, I agree with him. Rivera won three straight titles there but it wasn't a great division either. The product on the field has gone stale.
So they will hire an assistant GM and someone else in Football ops, which sound like the GM will be gone next.
Pat Shumer sucks in New York. He didn't get much help from the front office though. I can't really see them brining him back and he's one of the guys I would not mind adding to the staff here.
Freddie Kitchens is a blithering numbskull idiot. He's embarrassing. Cleveland will get rid of that mess.
I don't know how long Matt Patricia has... he's another one I wouldn't mind adding to the staff here.
Jason Garret is toast. I never really got the logic for hiring him anyway. I can't even see a spot for him on staff.
Dan Quinn is probably gone, Blank will not tolerate losing like they have. He'll get on someone's staff, or maybe a shot at Head Coach... I dunno…
Anyway about it, I think if one does their homework and has their ducks in a row, a good Washington GM could find a good Head Coach and assemble a pretty solid staff with all the people looking for jobs. I doubt Bruce Allen can, but a good GM would.

That's my take too, Karl.
All The Dan needs to do is find the best GM he can find - and pay him royally. Then get out of the way.

I feel sorry for all those franchises where the culture isn't damn good.

I doubt Bruce Allen can, but a good GM would. If Josh McDaniels decides that this is the year to take another HC job, it would make sense that Patricia would be his DC. There really isn't room back in NE for Patricia. Belichick is grooming his son Steven for that job, and possibly his job when he decides to retire. I wouldn't mind having that duo here, but I think that is a long shot. Odds improve if Bruce is gone, but Dan will remain. Of the other guys getting the boot (most likely) Quinn is the only one of real interest to me. But probably as a DC, not a HC. And that is really putting the cart before the horse. Unless Callahan keeps the HC job and replaces Manusky.

Add Doug Marrone to that list too.
He won't be in JAX next season either.

Yes, Marrone is in trouble there. I don't really know much about him, he's one of those guys that is around but are uninteresting.

Now all we have to hope for is the Rams just bottom out the last 4 games and McVay gets the boot, then can come right back to D.C. as our next HC.

As I said earlier in the season, this year has more BAD Football teams in the NFL than I can ever remember. Pederson isn't going anywhere. The currents are raging against Schwartz and some others on the staff, but Perderson still has some SB currency left. In fact, Roseman gets way more hate for his inability to draft skill players. I doubt he's going anywhere, but Laurie is not afraid to make that move.

I agree, but am just relaying what I am reading out of Philly too.
I think your take is more spot on, but lose to the Cowboys this year and all bets are off. If they lose to the Giants and / or Redskins it will be a meltdown of epic proportions.
