I don't want to hear about how we can't get our QB now.
Fact is, no matter where we end up in the draft, this FO should do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get a stud QB. If we end up at the #10 spot or even further, then we better MOVE UP.
This FO should not let ANY team get the QB that this FO has targeted and wants. Period.
WE SHOULD BE THE TEAM MOVING UP AND SNATCHING OUR QB FROM SOME OTHER TEAM. Not the other way around.
You know what you are probably right---Shanallen will do whatever it takes to move up to get one of the top 4 QBs--and with every meaningless win (other than making the players feel a little better about themselves) it will cost us that much more to make that move up---which means other potential playmakers we will not have an opportunity to get---if they are going this route to make me happy they better keep this up and finish strong by at least going 4-1 in the last five games --heck if we are going to screw up draft position let's really screw it up and finish strong--something to build upon for next season
I don't want to hear that we can't get a good QB if we slip in the draft standings. The Bengals got Andy Dalton in the 2nd round. Fitzpatrick of Buffalo wasn't even drafted I don't think. Brady 6th round pick. Romo went undrafted I believe. It can be done. I've seen plenty of first round picks become bust (Campbell, Ramsey, Shuler).
This team has too many holes to fill. Moving up to get a QB would not be the wisest move IMO.
No hole is bigger than QB. I'd rather have a great QB and be average to mediocre at three other positions than be great at said positions and still be stuck with Rex as our QB. Once you get the QB position down, everything else is easy. That's why the best teams in the league year in and year out are generally the ones with the best QBs.
