For the past five years I've done the Scout.com IMD for all those interested in the NFL Draft experience. However, I've grown tired of the same ol' limited mock draft that we've had to manually run with no real support from Scout. I'd like to attempt to take this same mock draft to the next level but I need your input so I understand how you feel. I'm currently working on free simulated mock draft software that is downloaded to your computer so you can run a full simulated mock draft by yourself. BUT this software will allow us to link up via server into groups of 2-32 people and run our own mock drafts, any time, all year round. I won't go into full detail here about all the various features but just know that my goal is, and always has been to create the most realistic draft experience outside the actual NFL Draft. So please take a minute and answer this 3 question survey and add your own comments if you like. www.surveymonkey.com/s/SimDraftsurvey

Hey jf (will you be on the Draft Team this year?). Haven't touched base w/Jez in awhile. Not sure about the Software. DraftTek has an excellent Draft Simulator (which they update every week)....I'm hoping to one day incorporate their (or Jez's ) site/software/setup with our Draft because it would essentially eliminate the need for Commishes.

Yep, I'm on Dallas' team. I was tempted to go out on my own and take another team, but it wouldn't be as much fun. I am interested in the draft software it sounds pretty cool.

Anything to make the draft better & easier for you guys i would be in. My only concern is would old pc's like mine be able to handle it and as long as it's user friendly.

Unfortunately my support system went AWOL so unless something changes, I don't see the software getting done. The idea was to simulate what we do in the IMD/NFL Draft so we wouldn't need commishes. The software would run the clock and edit the draft board after picks or trades. It's like what DraftTek runs, only in real time and with up to 32 people at once.
If any of you have ever run a simulated mock draft in a FF league then it's much like that. We could have up to 32 people log into each particular draft and any teams that haven't been taken would be run by the software program. Then another draft could be scheduled at certain intervals depending on the number of people waiting to join a draft.
I did a model using my Windows Movie Maker and it looked really good. You could incorporate real video analysis into the software or just stick to graphics only as the picks are made. I began developing a backing soundtrack for the software and was working on including something similar to Skype so everyone could interact while the draft was ongoing.
Then things ground to a halt on other fronts, and after my laptop crashed, I got fed up with everyone else involved and that was all she wrote.
