So is Scout.com officially removed from this thing now? Our board admins usually do a lot of work promoting it and even writing articles about it for our front page.
And does this mean we are not allowed to use the Scout forums to run our team's mock? I have a hard enough time getting people to contribute on there and I'm thinking it will be even harder if I have to get the few that do it to sign up on another forum.

Hey TN. Great to see you again. First let me say that I'm sorry we weren't able to continue the IMD on Scout. The problem is that Scout took down our IMD forums and with it my mod clearance for those forums. We can't have an IMD without a home for it and mod abilities to edit. The reason the IMD was able to succeed and grow was due in large part because of the support we were given by Jan and her entire CPND forum. It's not that we are moving the IMD to another site but that Scout PUSHED the IMD to another site where the support system for it has been and would continue to be. I had always hoped Scout would step up and give us our own forum just for the IMD but I was grateful for what we had. I personally had given up on the IMD altogether because of the lack of concern for it by Scout. But this site and many past IMD participants wanted it to continue, so here we are. I've just began trying to help organize the IMD so I'm not up to speed on how they want to run things here. You'd have to ask them about the details. I'm just a guest really.

Make no mistake - Jez is the alpha cat here & as far as the IMD is concerned, despite all the hard, ancillary work the other Commishes contribute, what Jez says goes & were it not for him, we wouldn't even have this Draft. He operates this Draft with the upmost integrity & sets the example for how things SHOULD be done. He's so much more than a mere "guest"....& he's the BEST boss & mentor anyone could ask for. We are SO lucky to have him! There are no words that exist that adequately express my gratitude & respect for him & the lessons he's taught me He's under NO obligation to help us or be patient teaching us the ropes. As I told him in a PM, "Thank You" seems too shallow a sentiment & from the bottom of my heart, I consider you a dear friend & my appreciation goes beyond words. You are 1 of a kind!

Well sure but what about me??
But seriously, this is fine. I checked with my PatriotsInsiders people and they said it's fine for us Pats fans to make discussion threads over there like we've always done, and then we can just link over to here for the actual draft picks. That way the rest of the folks who usually help me out can still do so the way they have in the past without needing to be a part of this new forum unless they want to.
Thanks for the reply.

OK, we have 13 GMs so far, which is a good start. Are there any teams we need to reach out to?

I'm used to an entire squadron of Ravens getting involved with the IMD but you're the only response so far. HAHA, Yeah...We usually go by commitee and we have fallen off the last two years with a few members taking their draftnik status and creating Draftbreakdown.com They've done an incredible job covering the players and really getting alot of footage onto youtube for those who can't spend every saturday afternoon in the man-cave.

The first question I must ask is to JoeWash. I hope the Mrs heaps this much praise on you at home because I'm feeling uncomfortable if she isn't. I'm glad things could be worked out TN because you guys are definitely an asset. The Titans are still open so we may have a job opening for you if you are willing and have a replacement on the Pats. Since you are from Tennessee and all. ;D Twizz and TS are both solid IMD vets so we can give them a team and know the job will get done right. Historically, certain teams are nearly impossible to recruit like Tenn, Buffalo, St. Louis, and Philly. Now I've PMed previous posters from these sites about GMing but I'm not holding my breath. Other teams have volunteers who simply vanish into thin air. For all you guys who are willing to GM another team, pick one of the vacant teams you like or know something about, like a divisional rival or a team near where you live. I'm sure the Mrs has a list of your names so we'll give it a week, at least until the comp picks come out, and then we'll let you guys brawl over which team you want. I will ask though that if after you've taken over a team, if a new fan comes and wants to get involved, that you'll teach them the ropes and allow them some action during the IMD so they may return in the future to GM that team again.

Oh we all know magnified's crew very well here. I planned on using their player analysis for my IMD software before it fell through.

Hey guys, I'd like to come on aboard as the Bears GM again if that's alright. I usually don't get much excitement from the Bears' board, but I'll ask around again and see if I can get some others involved.

Okay, so now how many teams do will still have open? I forgot to add Denver but cubuffintx just PMed me so they are covered. NY Jets (JetsFanatic89 possible) Philly San Diego (SoCalThrilla possible) Seattle St. Louis Tampa Bay TennesseeIs that right? I think we can go ahead and start filling these teams with volunteers now because those forums are dead and history says it won't change. Take a look guys and pick your poison.

I will send out some PMs, Jez, & see if we can get some more GMs on board (particularly the Jets as they've always had strong representation in years past); but we do have some very solid veteran volunteers who are looking to represent the absentee teams, so that's very encouraging. Once the volunteers make their team preferences known, we'll set them up immediately & get things rolling Looking forward to it! :cloud9

Currently, I am the Assistant GM for my beloved Bengals but I would be down for taking over the GM duties for the Jacksonville Jaguars as well. I love every aspect of the NFL Draft and I would do my best to represent both the Bengals and Jaguars. Let me know if you need me. Thanks

The only thing that may cause a problem for some is if you made a trade with YOUR favorite while GM of the Jags. Make sure to represent the Jags best interests. Even if it hurts your Bengals in doing so. If you really like a certain player and you know the Bengals like him too then you may have to leapfrog them if need be to make sure YOU get him.
To put it bluntly...when you're in Jags GM mode....screw everybody else including the Bengals.

You've got first dibs on the Bills psalm. I honestly don't see anyone fighting you for the job so get to work.

I could take over any of those vacant teams if you want, except the Eagles. As a Giants fan I don't think it would be right, as I believe fans of that team would feel there's a conflict of interest.

You should be all good to go, psalm kebo is willing to take San Diego...as long as there's no objections, I'll officially put him in that spot tomorrow.... I'm still waiting for approval from ".Net" to be able to PM Seattle's GM from last year. Given our history, though, I may ask Tone or Twiz or Jez to try & make contact with that particular Forum (don't ask). I've seen him (rekwahc is his s/n, but I think he goes by chawker for his handle) post over there (Seattle's new forum) recently, so I feel fairly certain he'd come over (if we can just make contact).

Since you are from Tennessee and all. ;D I'll do the Titans if you want, but I still want to be the Pats GM. I will agree to just not do any trades between the Pats and Titans. We did it this way a couple years ago and it worked out fine. The Pats and Titans generally are looking for different things anyway so there really isn't much conflict. Also, even though I do get a little help from guys on the Pats forum, if I didn't do the Pats you probably wouldn't be able to find someone else who can or will devote the time to be the GM for the whole Pats draft. Just let me know if you want me to do both the Pats and Titans.
