Rules for the 2011 IMD
1. Location: The draft will be held in this forum. httr.CPND.us
2. Dates: The draft will start one week before the real draft over three days: Thursday April 21- Saturday April 23. If round 7 is not finished by 4/23, the draft will be finished on Monday April 25.
3. Times: Each night the draft will be held between 7PM-10PM Central DST. We will try to stop by 10PM, however we want to finish the first two rounds on Thursday and may go to 11PM.
4. Threads/Communications: There will be three threads or rooms running:
B. Official Final Results: This is the grid where the commisioner will post the player picks, school, and position. It is at the top of the Official Draft Thread.
C. Chat Room: Nothing in the Chat Room is official, but this is where you can communicate with other teams and generally have some fun.
D. Private War Rooms: This is where you work with your GM to decide on picks and trades.
[/ul]5. Pick Times and Pick Flow: Rounds 1 and 2 will have 5 minute time limits, and rounds 3-7 will have 3 minute limits.
Once a pick is made, the next team will be on the clock. This is a change from previous drafts and means that there are no preset times for team picks. The reason for this is that teams usually don't use their entire time slot and we wish to expedite the draft and make it more like the real NFL draft. It also means that you can not wait to the last minute to sign on. It is suggested that you sign on at least 1/2 hour before your pick. It is also suggested that you don't wait until your time slot to arrange trades. Please note this important change.
6. Late Picks: If you are late on your pick (and late is late), you will fall to the pick behind you, just like the real draft (the Vikings' example). If the team behind you picks your player, you must pick another player before the next team picks. If you have not made a pick by the time the second team after you, the Commisioner will make your pick at the end of the round.
If you know ahead of time you will not be available for your pick, you may PM a list to the Commisioner and the pick will be made for you in your time slot. But these lists must be sent at least two hours before the start of that night's round.
7. Disputes: We hope that these rules will eliminate any disputes, but should they arise, handle them through a PM to the Commisioner. We will recognize the designated GM as the final say in all picks and trades.
This is the largest mock draft in the world, and we all work very hard to make it run smoothly while having fun. Good luck to all!
